Got an exact same one cjaa 2L TDI and it hates starting in the cold and it’s deleted as well… definitely some kind of issue tho needs jump very often

My VW Golf 1.6 TDI 2016 Mk7 Estate started up last year east of poland (Mazury) in like 3 secs in minus 30 also. With 150k km on the plate. Never got disappointed by this car.

Shame about VWs awful reliability. Not to mention the emissions scandal!!

Before the emissions scandal had Volkswagen abandon the diesel car market in north America when those at a dealership in medicine hat Alberta tried cold starting of a practically a brand new golf TDI as salespersons waited for a really cold day to film a cold start video when they waited for temperatures of -30C as light winds made it feel like -40C when with a few seconds of glow plugs the car started right up like a gasser.

I have a 2013 Golf TDI and, believe me, it starts much better than most canadian gas cars: one preheating and there you go! The new VW diesel engines sound much less noisy than the older ones and run much smoother!!! Lately my battery gave up on me (5 years sharp: Novemebr 13, 2012- November 13, 2017), so I put a new one, and then, with the extreme cold of these days (Christmas- New year's Eve= between - 20 and -35 with the wind!), my Glow Plugs started to show signs of weakness, so I just ordered 4 new BERU GP with pressure sensors (extremely expensive at delaership: 205$ each= 820& for a set!). So I ordered them on ebay for 484$ delievered at my door!. My car is 5 years and 100 000 km: it runs smooth and never let me down (average gas mileage is: 5.7L/00km (Last August, I did 1072 km on 1 tank of VPower Diesel= 65$). My friend Vincent has a Sonata Hybrid and , yesterday, it wouldn't start (Frozen batteery and battery cells..), so le left it on the parking lot and still has to tow it to the dealership next tuesday...what a disapointement!
